Handspun Organic Wild Yarn
  • Handspun Organic Wild Yarn

I'm so proud of this beautiful yarn grown by my flock of wild ones, raised by me and nature.

This wool is organic as no chemicals are used in the treatment of my animals, internally or externally. We live and graze alongside nature and tread lightly in our care of the land. This wool is sheared by myself throughout the summer using the ancient technique of blade shearing.

It's super soft, strong textured pure Shetland from one of my beautiful ewes, named imaginativeley "Shetland". she has been such a wonderful part of the flock and always gives me twin lambs. Her wool is super soft, like the softest i've ever felt! The colours are hard to distinguish in photots but they range from ivory, cream, fawn, light silver all in one! Exceptional quality.

Light Aran weight. Each ball approximately 50 meters. 50g weight. 3-5 mm needles.

The earthy colours reflect the nature of my fibre flock. Handspun in Ironbridge, Shropshire by a traditional textile artist with an exceptional skill, using the Thel and Tog fibres to produce a unique, traditional yarn. . Buying this yarn will support 2 local, sustainable small artisan businesses and keep this wonderful flock full of character and woolly love thriving.
